Managing Devices
The Devices page is used to view and manage an organisation's devices. By default the device table will show all devices.
Device table
Each device shows:
- Identifier: Unique identifier for the device
- Status: Shows the current status of the device, e.g. if it is Online, Offline, Busy etc.
- Tag: Friendly name or information. This can contain any text or be left blank.
- Address: The TCP/IP address that can be used to connect to the device for the currently selected gateway. If all gateways are selected this will be blank.
- Site: The site the device is in.
- Service status: Whether the device is in service or not. This status does not reflect how a device is operating in any way, it is simply to allow the user to filter out devices that have not yet been deployed (i.e. are not in service).
Filtering and searching
It is possible to filter by a devices tag, identifier and address by typing it (or part of it) into the filter box.
In addition it is possible to filter device by Site, Type, Status and Service Status by selecting them from the appropriate lists.
Device details
By clicking on a device in the table the user will be taken to the device details page.
The details page consists of the following tabs.
Device details
All device information.
Gateway Access
Lists all gateways that have permission to connect to the site the device belongs to.
Configuration History
Lists all user actions performed on the device.
Status Changes
Lists all recent status changes of the device to assist troubleshooting.
Editing Device
The user may edit the following details of the device by clicking the The Edit Device button:
- Tag

- Device type
- Service status
Fetch Config
The user may fetch the settings from the remote device by clicking the The Fetch Config button. The user may edit the following settings and save them back to the device:
- DHCP settings
- Proxy server settings
Changing these settings can stop the device communicating with SAP if they are not correct.
It is recommended that these are not changed without consulting with Coherent Research.
